Kidney Stone Disease, also known as nephrolithiasis or renal calculi, is a condition characterized by the formation of hard mineral deposits (stones) within the kidneys. These stones can vary in size, composition, and location within the urinary tract, and they can cause significant pain and complications.
Kidney Stone Symptoms
- Severe Pain: Sharp, cramping pain in the back, side, or lower abdomen, which may come and go and can radiate to the groin.
- Painful Urination: Discomfort or burning sensation while urinating.
- Frequent Urination: An increased need to urinate, often in small amounts.
- Blood in Urine (Hematuria): Urine may appear pink, red, or brown due to the presence of blood.
- Cloudy or Foul-Smelling Urine: Urine may have an unusual color or odor.
